“I am a neighbor to the Center and its presence as a Community asset feels like the best possible use for this expansive property. I am happy to see/hear children playing sports there all summer long. It is a natural expansion of the school’s sports fields. I love the presence of the community garden as well as the open dog park. These assets may not be used by every tax payer, including myself, but I feel strongly that they enhance my property value simply by existing in my community. I can’t think of a better use of such an impactful piece of property and to fund it with a grant so that it doesn’t impact taxes… is a win-win situation!”
"I take Tai Chi classes 3 times per week at the Cambridge Community Center and the social connection with the other participants has been just as rewarding as the exercise. I've gained balance, strength, mental clarity, and relief from stress as well as friendships that sustain me. I see a vibrant group of folks playing pickleball when I arrive, and a very social group of men playing table tennis. Couples drop in to shoot hoops. The summer program for local children is well organized and respectful of property and other programs. The kids are happy and get loads of outdoor & indoor exercise. On hot days they walk down to the Brewster River and admire nature along the way. These are my observations and experiences, only a fragment of the benefits our community experiences at the CCC. Please support us."
“The Cambridge Community Center has been a space all members of our family have used and enjoyed over the years. From working out in the gym to hosting our daughter’s second birthday (bouncy houses included!) to my husband and I getting our steps in while playing pick-up soccer during the winter - the CCC is a special place right in our town that we are lucky and grateful to have access to. Even our four legged family members have enjoyed using the dog park that is available. When our extended family is visiting, our nephews look forward to the annual family basketball game that is made possible by renting out the court space at the CCC too - hoping that this is the year they can outshoot their uncles and grandfather. We have also attended many community events here - Back Country Barn Bash, Fourth of July celebrations, and soccer games out on the field; it is a space that is in the heart of our village that brings people together. Hearing that there is another option on the table to ensure the CCC can remain available to families like ours is promising and exciting. This space is a gem for our entire community.”
“My high school age son uses the CCC often to workout & stay in shape during his sport off seasons.”
“One of the reasons I chose to get an apartment in Jeffersonville was because of the community center. Gyms are expensive and there really aren’t any near here. This has been a great resource for my partner and I to go to the gym and stay in shape.”
“My husband and I have used the Community Center numerous times over the years. I have partaken in many Yoga and Pilates classes there. The two of us have learned and played Pickleball. We have attended Winter Wellness Ski Sales and Backcountry celebrations. We have attended Bunco Bashes. The sense of comradery and community is always reassuring and wonderful to behold.”
“It allows me to meet new people and exercise in the winter.”
“From birthday parties and sporting recreation events to using the gym facilities daily, the CCC has been a pillar of health for our family.”
“Cambridge is an isolated town. We are roughly 40 minutes away from Chittenden County towns and 30 minutes from the main Lamoille towns of Morrisville and Stowe. We need the Community Center for the wellness of our town - physically, mentally & socially.”
“Communities thrive when they have facilities such as the Cambridge Community Center. While Vermont's population is aging and shrinking overall, there is a growing number of young families in the Cambridge/Jeffersonville area. To keep those families here, and to attract more, the town needs to grow and enhance its offerings. Many know, understand, and value the benefits the CCC provides to our community and to people from neighboring towns. We need to find ways to continue bringing people together and offering a place to improve their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. CCC is one tool our community has through which to improve those core pillars.”
